Tim Naehring has played for the Boston Red Sox for all of his seven major league seasons after the team drafted him in 1988. He has proven himself offensively and defensively since becoming the team's starting third baseman in 1995. Naehring batted a career-high .307 in 1995 and was instrumental in guiding the Red Sox to the American League East Division title. He was named Man of the Year by the BoSox Club of Boston for his contributions to the success of the Red Sox and for his cooperation in community endeavors. In 1996, Naehring again posted impressive numbers, with a .288 batting average and a career high 17 home runs and 65 runs batted in.

In October 2000, Tim was named to his current position, Director of Player Development, by the Cincinnati Reds.

Naehring has proven to be a major league superstar -- both on and off the field. He has ben a dedicated participant in the Red Sox Adopt-A-School program, as well as other Red Sox community activities. Naehring is also the founder of The Athletes Reaching Out Foundation (ARO). ARO's goal is to unify, encourage and assist athletes with all aspects of community service activities. ARO is dedicated to building dreams, and furthermore, building the facilities where dreams begin. Naehring launched ARO's flagship landmark last year when he constructed a scaled-down version of Boston's Fenway Park in Cincinnati, where he played knothole baseball as a child.
